Haverford Colony Newsletter, December 2016 - January 2017

CHIMNEY REPAIRS
Minor engineering modifications were completed on all chimney caps that were replaced in 2015 and 2016. Chimney repair work on units in phase 3 will be in 2017.

GUTTER CLEANING
Seasonal gutter cleaning was completed.

PROPERTY TAX APPEAL
Our initial appeal of the 2016 triennial property tax assessment was not accepted by the Cook County Assessor. An appeal will be re-submitted on behalf of all Colony homeowners. If successful, payment for attorney fees will be due from homeowners according to their portion of first-year tax savings.

2017 BUDGET
The 2017 Proposed Budget was approved at the Nov. 10 board meeting. Coupon booklets for 2017 monthly assessment payments have been mailed to all homeowners.

INSURANCE
Quotes will be reviewed for a Haverford Colony insurance policy that would permit us to withdraw from current coverage under Haverford Master's policy.

HOME SECURITY
A couple of Haverford home burglaries were recently reported. This serves as an important reminder that we must be vigilant, check with our neighbors, and report suspicious activity. The neighbor you help will return the favor.
There will be more discussion about home security sign rules at the next board meeting.
